Your water-bearing stove from Spartherm®

Innovation and quality meet security of supply

With a water-bearing fireplace, you are investing in sustainable heat and more independence, as you can use the energy from the fire twice: it not only heats the room, but also supports your central heating system. Part of the heat energy is transferred to the heating system, ensuring efficient hot water preparation and room heating throughout the house.

In this way, a water-bearing fireplace not only provides more comfort, but also increases your security of supply.

Energy-saving heating - with a water-bearing fireplace that supplies the whole house

A fireplace as a water-bearing model offers you more than just atmospheric flames. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the heat generated is not only used in the room where the fire is installed. Part of the energy from the flue gas is stored in a buffer tank and made available for the central heating system.

This allows you to get the most out of the firewood - good for the environment, good for your wallet.

Heat

Water-bearing wood-burning stoves are integrated into the heating system of your home. In water-bearing wood-burning stoves, there is a so-called "heat exchanger" above the combustion chamber. This ensures that otherwise unused energy from the flue gas can be efficiently stored and used in other ways.

Wondering how this works? The heating water flows "cold" into the heat exchanger via a pipe system and is heated there by the energy of the flue gas. The water heated in this way is transferred to a water tank - the buffer tank. It is stored there and can be used in other rooms via the heating pipe system, even with a time delay.

Water-bearing fireplaces can be perfectly combined with a heat pump or solar thermal system. Both systems feed into the same buffer cylinder - for an efficient heat supply all year round.

  • With a solar thermal system: In summer, the sun provides heated water, in winter the fireplace takes over.
  • With a heat pump: This covers the basic heating requirements - the fireplace supplements the system and provides additional heat in winter.

You can find out more about the benefits of a water-bearing fireplace in our blog.

FAQ

and heating at a glance.

Sorry, no matching search results were found.

A water-bearing stove - or a stove with a water pocket - is a special wood-burning stove which, in addition to emitting heat to the room in which it is installed, also heats water and feeds it into the home's heating system. The heat from the flue gas heats water in the heat exchanger, which is then fed into the house's heating circuit via a pipe system to support the central heating system and provide hot water.

Compared to other heating methods, water-bearing stoves are considered a more environmentally friendly heating option, as they are powered by wood as a renewable resource and emit very little CO2. They also enable more efficient use of the heat energy generated.

It is best to consult a specialist dealer in your area. As a specialist, he can carry out an exact calculation and determine the right size of buffer tank.

A combination of a solar thermal system and a water-bearing stove, for example, can also be very useful. Both require a buffer cylinder, but usually work at different times.

Find a specialist dealer

A water-bearing stove should be serviced regularly to ensure optimum performance and safety. This includes cleaning the combustion chamber, flue pipe and heat exchanger as well as checking the seals and safety devices in the system. It is advisable to have maintenance carried out by a qualified specialist.

Find a dealer near me
